About Teri

Teri has established a career around technology and the arts. While being an IT professional, she continues to work on projects in music and tech.

Teri has spent time working across US markets on the West and East coasts, as well as the Midwest. Teri was an Associate (Lead Technologist) at Booz Allen Hamilton where she worked on projects in AI, data, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and enterprise architecture. She was an Apple engineer for roughly a decade working on some of the first large iOS and Mac environments for enterprise environments while employed in corporate America. Teri was also a Technology Manager/Applications Developer at DePaul University School of Music, where she overhauled and modernized their IT infrastructure and operations. She’s also worked at music and tech startups. One of those startups, WaveMachine Labs, received a Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) Award nomination for the Auria iOS app. Auria is considered the first digital audio workstation (DAW) for iOS.

Teri has also taught undergraduate and IT training courses. While at The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago, she was promoted to Assistant Professor from Adjunct Instructor shortly before its sale to Dream Center Education Holdings. In that role, Teri was rated highest out of her faculy peers in the media arts for student usage of a ‘new’ learning management system. While at ILIA-Chicago, Teri taught courses in Listening & Analysis and Audio Distribution Techniques in the Audio Production department. Teri has also taught Apple IT/OS courses at Future Media Concepts Chicago, which delivered Apple-certified training for training.apple.com/LearnQuest.

Early in her career, Teri spent a year in the San Francisco Bay Area where she interned at two studios, including Studio 880. While at Studio 880 she supported various clients, including Green Day, during the pre-production of American Idiot. American Idiot went onto win 2x GRAMMYs, 7x GRAMMY nominations, 1x TEC Award. The Broadway adaption won 1x GRAMMY, 2x Tony Awards, and 1x Tony nomination. This internship, along with her undergraduate studies in recording technology at University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh (B.M., cum laude), helped her land an assistantship for graduate school at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. In addition to earning a M.S. in Music Technology (Informatics), she also completed a part-time MBA program (Management Information Systems) at DePaul University. Teri also received a NAMM Scholarship during her undergraduate studies.

Teri is a classically trained percussionist and during undergraduate studies at University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, she studied with Dr. Payton MacDonald, Dr. Susan Powell, Dr. Christina Wilkes-Walton, and Dr. Sandy Schaefer. While a graduate assistant at Indiana University, she taught undergraduate percussion lessons and led the Urban Drum Ensemble, all with non-music majors. While at UW-Oshkosh, Teri performed with the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. At IU, Teri played vibraphone with the Afro Cuban Jazz Ensemble and congas with the Urban Drum Ensemble.

Teri aspires to attend law school and obtain an artist diploma in jazz studies.
